[Just received this submission!!! Thanks so much for the answers, I hope your cat feels better and Go Gators!!!

Just wanted to drop you a note, I’m actually the dude who edited the Avengers Annual. I was taking a moment to surf for people’s reaction to the comic, as I was hoping others loved it as much as I did, and saw your query about the cats that popped up. Thought you might like to hear the story!
One of those cats, the black and white cat named Winifred Burkle, is actually my cat. David Lafuente had snuck a couple of cats into early pages of the book (Cap’s kitchen cat and the cat in Tony’s floatie) (the man likes cats) (because he is a good and right-thinking person), and when I saw them I asked if he would mind putting my cat Winifred in the comic. She’d just gone through a seriously intense surgery to remove a large, aggressive cancer and we were waiting to see if the procedure had took or not. My wife and I were pretty freaked out, and I thought my wife would get a kick out of seeing our cat as a part of life in Avengers Tower.
Lafuente, being the absolute gentleman that he is, not only very graciously put Fred in the book, but gave her a food bowl AND a nicely-healed surgical scar! And our awesome colorists Rain Beredo and Lee Loughridge also played ball and colored our girl up in her black and white glory.
Fred is now well along the road to recovery and doing VERY well, and we’ve got beautiful Lafuente drawings of her amongst some of Marvel’s greatest heroes. She’s an Avenger now! A true Christmas present, indeed!
So there you have it! Thanks for checking out the issue! And go Gators!!! (I lived in Gainesville for years! Went to high school at Eastside, HOME OF THE RAMS!)
All the Best,
